The devourer of the unworthy dead. She had the head of a crocodile, a lions front end and a hippopotamus behind
Anuket
Daughter of Khnum and Satis. Orriginally from Satis
Bastet
Cat goddess from Bubatis. Seen as a goddess of music and a mother figure and thus often shown with kittens and a sistrum. Thought to be the daughter of Ra and often linked with the lion goddess Sekhmet.
Edjo
Cobra goddess orriginally from Buto. Defender of the king and often represented with the ureaus on the crown.
Hathor
Cow goddess of love, joy, fertility, music and dance. Daughter of Ra and wife of Horus at Edfu, she guarded the sun during it's nightly journey through the underworld.
Heket
Frog goddess of childbirth and consort of Khnum.
Isis
Goddess of magic and mystery adn also a mother goddess. Daughter of Geb and Nut, wife of Osiris and also his sister. Sister to Seth and Nephthys.
Maat
Goddess of law, harmony and justice. Daughter of Ra. The ostrich feather in her hair was used as a weight to weigh the hearts of the dead.
Meretseger
Cobra goddess whose name means 'lover of silence'. Guardian of the necropolis.
Meshkent
Goddess of childbirth, rebirth and destiny. Associated with the birthing brick used by Egyptian women.
Mut
Mother goddess who wore a vulture shaped headress. Wife of Amun.
Neith
Creator goddess from Sais, whose symbol was a sheild and crossed arrows. Later seen as a consort of Seth and mother to Sobek.
Nekhbet
Vulture goddess of Upper Egypt. A protection symbol who held an eternity symbol in her claws.
Nephthys
Daughter of Geb and Nut, sister and wife of Seth. Sister to Isis and Osiris.
Nut
Sky goddess whose hands and feet rested at the four cardinal points. Also a funeral goddess. Daughter of Tefnut and Shu and wife of Geb. Mother of Isis, Osiris, Seth and Nephthys. Often seen as the mother of Ra who she swallowed at night and then gave birth to at dawn.
Qadesh
Goddess of sexual pleasure orriginally from the middle east. Consort of Min and mother of Reshep.
Sekhmet
Lion goddess who symbolised courage in battle. Also known as the 'eye of Ra'.
Selket
Scorpion goddess who guarded the coffin.
Taweret
Hippopotamus goddess of childbirth and consort of Seth. Sometimes shown as the head of a hippo, the limbs of a lion, the tail of a crocodile and human pendulous breasts.
Tefnut
Goddess of moist air. Wife and sister of Shu and daughter of Amun.
Wadjet
Snake goddess of lower Egypt.
