In Memphis the main creator god was Ptah who was later linked with Tatenen
the first mound of earth. Thus Ptah was both the creator and the created and
also part of Nun, the primal water.
It was said that Ptah then created the Ennaed of gods, that is Atum, Shu,
Tefnut, Geb, Nut, Isis, Osriris, Nephthys and Seth. These deities he created from his heart, the
seat of thought, and his tongue, for commanding action. He then allotted
places of worship for each of these deities.
